Yooralla is one of Victoria’s largest not for profit organisations providing support for people of all ages who live with a disability. They assist around 30,000 people every year, most on a daily basis, who are disabled from birth, due to an accident, ill health or ageing.

The support they provide includes direct – residential and individualised support services, as well as schooling, education, community access and employment opportunities.

People in regional Victoria are often struggling to get information and advice about disability technology and equipment that may be available to them.

With funding from Gandel Foundation, Yooralla is delivering three Regional Expos, that will provide a way for those in need of disability support to find out about the equipment and technology options that can assist and enchance their wellbeing and improve independent living.

People with disability, their family members and carers have an opportunity to find out about Mobility equipment (vehicles, wheelchairs, accessories); Communication equipment (devices, iPads, apps); and Daily living technologies (voice recognition, help around the house, gardening).

Very importantly, this is combined with Yooralla’s independent advice from their staff and therapists on the range of options and ideas, as well as guidance related to the next steps in the process.
