Who’s who winners

Coinciding with the Geelong Gallery’s presentation of the Art Gallery of New South Wales’ 2018 Archibald Prize, this student prize encouraged young artists to celebrate local identities, their personal histories and achievements—through portraiture.

In September, the five 2018 Who’s who portrait prize winners were announced, selected from over 1,500 entries by local students.

Congratulations to Finlay Lycett (Bambini Early Learning Centre), Meg Taylor (Geelong Grammar School, Bostock House), Emma Pape (Ocean Grove Primary School), Emily Wood (The Geelong College) and D’Jana Biden (Heathdale Christian College).

The winners’ and finalists’ artworks were on display across 12 venues throughout Geelong and the Bellarine during September.

The Who’s who project was part of Geelong Gallery’s Who Are You program – an ambitious child, youth and community program promoting learning through participation and inclusion. The Who Are You program was supported by Gandel Foundation, Geelong Gallery Foundation, Geelong Connected Communities and McHarry’s buslines.
